What is the name of your state? NY.....My wife has a law suit against a trasportation authority. Not sure if it's slander or defamation and the facts are rather lengthly. The case is coming up for trial and the judge has urged the two attorneys to try to come to a settlement. Her attorney is willing to discuss it, but they are adamently opposed. My question is: Is this a normal course of events, or do they really believe that they will win and don't have to settle? If you need some facts of the case to answer, I will try to condense them. Thanks
