What is the name of your state? massachusetts
my ex husband has been making false and malicious statements about me to family members and evan our children. is this slander and can i sue him?

Since you didn't give us any facts, I don't know the answer to whether your ex defamed you.

However, if you have an extra $10K and a couple of years, go hire a lawyer and sue him.

The court will tell you if you have a case.

BTW, if you win your case, do not expect your ex to stop with the nasty talk.

Do you have herpes? If so, it would be hard to prove slander or defamation. He is telling family members and your nearly and or adult children who have long ago formed their opinion of you, his opinion of you. If you have no bones hiding in your closet, then laugh it hff and tell your family to consider the source. If you don't have herpes, then it is a different story, but the cost of a lawsuit and collecting would be very expensive.
