What is the name of your state? Florida

My mom has been harassing me for about 7 months now. Via text messages, coming to my apartment. She has gone to my work and spread nasty rumors about me. I changed my phone number, and I will be moving soon. I called the police, they told me to get an injunction. Well, all they have is a domestic violence one. I went today to the court house, and filed for one. My mom has not put her hands on me. My question is, does anyone know of a solution? Maybe there is a harassment protection order (I asked but they said no) maybe its with the state. I have hit a brick wall here. I want her out of my life, but she keeps harassing me and spreading rumors. The cops and the court do not help. I have no idea what to do!

Would you please post with a few more details about your situation?

For instance, I understand that you live away from home and are employed, however it would help to know if you are an adult or a minor. Also, I am not sure what sort of "nasty rumors" your mother is spreading about you at your place of employment. Could you provide more specific information on that, as well? And, what exactly is it that your mother is harassing you about?

When you post with that information, I can try to give you some suggestions on how best to resolve your situation with your mom.

In the meantime, from what you DID post, it sounds like changing your phone number and moving are good first steps to take. These steps will help you avoid the unwanted calls and text messages, and will help to prevent unwanted visits from your mother. With no violence or, apparently, threatened violence, however, I am not at all sure a "protection" order is necessary.

Please post back.
