What is the name of your state? Ohio

I had a "falling out" with my office partner. He decided he was going to "get" me so he wrote some allegations to the employer in which he knew I would be hard pressed to defend. After a backwoods investigation by the employer, I was fired and have not been able to find work since. The union is taking the case to arbitration this month. Since he made false allegations in writing, would that be grounds for sueing him? Also, if I am reinstated which the union feels I will, would that not prove the allegations are false. If not, how would you prove them false.
