What is the name of your state? Kentucky

I live in Kentucky and am a disabled veteran. In our neighborhood most of my neighbors generally keep to themselves. We have a neighbor that up until recently would talk to different neighbors one on one, and depending on who they would talk to, would make comments about the other neighbors some very outlandish and say they are going to call the authorities. No one ever really took this neighbor very seriously. Until now.
Talking to one of my other neighbors the other day, it was brought to my attention that this neighbor who would make the comments was telling people that I am a hypochondriac and faking my injuries (all because though it was painful for me, I picked up my crying 3 year old and didn't use my cane because my hands were full) and that they were going to call the VA and have my benefits pulled. I have multiple injuries/disabilities and have all the tests, X-Rays, MRI's, EMG's etc to back up my disability (400+ pages of medical records). It has been a hard fight with the VA and now I have this person trying to get my benefits revoked. I am worried that if there is an investigation, how long would my benefits be put on hold until it was found that the claims had no merit. I know that I would eventually get my benefits re-instated with any back pay, but my family and I would be in dire straits until resolved. I am also very angry that my injuries aquired in service to my Country are being called into question.
When word of this got around, and folks started talking, it turns out that 7 (yes seven) neighbors have had various authorities called on them (to include child protective services in a couple instances) and there has always been found no merit in these cases. There are more instances and some are downright way out in left field but I am not going to list them all.
Now we are trying to figure out what to do about this neighbor that is doing and saying these things. I have not said a word to this person in months prior to this and others have not said a single word to this person. We are now afraid even to go outside of our homes without having something made up and reported. This person could seriously ruin peoples lives with some of these allegations. Any advice in this would be appreciated. What is the name of your state?

Totally ignore the idiot. I doubt him reporting that you picked up a three year old is going to go anywhere with the VA. If no one is talking to the crazy neighbor, maybe he will get a clue. At this point you have no damages.

It's not defamation to say you are healthy.
If it were only saying that I am 'healthy' is not the issue, it is the implication that I am commiting a crime by faking/falsifying my disabilities with the Department of Veterans Affairs is what I am concerned about.

This person has a track record of making false accusations to government agencies which has resulted in people actually getting investigated.

If you're not lying, you don't have anything to worry about.
