My question is: How do you stop someone from defamating your character and for libel if you cannot disprove what they are saying to others because there is no evidence either to prove or to disprove? A reputation is at stake and I want to know what legal recourse does one have or how one can tell the slanderer, that unless they have facts to prove otherwise they had better stop stating their accusation is factual. Please advise or direct me to where one might get help for this sort of thing.
Thank you.
