What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NJ
I worked for a large medical office for 3 years and had great reviews never any problems. I went on medical leave and when I returned the computer system had changed and I was not given any training. At this point my former boss started to ride me for everything and anything. ( I could see she was setting me up to fail) Knowing that three other co workers had been fired or driven to quit after medical leave I went to our HR department and that made things worse. I was let go after two months back to work. The reason was mistakes. Now I have found out that my former employer has made negative statements that are not true.# 1 Made mistakes for my entire work history with this empolyer ( I was fired for mistakes but mistakes made were for good reason) #2 was bad with patients. #3 had problems with co workers. #4 had mood swings to the point she said was mental illness ( she is a RN). This is not true and if it was HIPAA states she could not repeat it. Besides these facts the real fact is she is a RN and can not diagnosis anyone as it is out of her scope of practice. Should I report this to the nurseing board? I found this out from a prospective employer whom e-mailed all these details. ( I did not get the job )

I have been out of work for three months and found out this person has given other employers this kind of information also. I have statements from all but two of my co workers( the other two co workers are worried about there jobs) which state these comments are not true. I also have statements from patients that state these statements are not true. I also have copies of all my reviews and the promotion letter I recieved one month prior to my medical leave. I have been told by a former co -worker this former boss wants to black ball me from working in local area since I went over her head, as a joke was passed by this former boss.

Do I have a case or would it be a waste of time/ money and if I have no case how do I get this person to stop giving false information out? This is a big group with a legal department behind them.

Thank you for any help you can give

Well, tell you what. You can spend $10,000 to make her stop talking bad about you...in a few years, or you can just let it go and eventually she will stop because no one will care.

is your former boss telling these lies to prospective employers that you have interviewed with? Have any of the places you interviewed with confirmed they were told these statements by your former boss?

Yes my former boss is telling prospective employers these false statements. I have been able to confirm this with three prospective employers. I also contacted a few others and I was told they would not comment. Yes I did interview with these prospective employers and did not get the job.

Keeping in mind that the burden of proof is going to be entirely on YOU, are you prepared to show first that what was said is FALSE (not a differing opinion; not a misunderstanding, not two people looking at two different aspects of what happened, but FALSE) and secondly, that BUT FOR what was said you would DEFINITELY have gotten the job?
