My husband is a Security Guard, who was contracted out from his employer to work at a site. While working at the site an e-mail was sent to the main company, containing false accusations, and without warning staited to the security company that he was to be terminated from the site immediatetly, The security company then laid my husband off because no other positions are open at this current time. So My husband had asked to see the alleged e-mail that had caused all of this. The main company refuses to allow us to even see the acusations, how can we know that this is even legal? My main question... isnt that company slandering my husbands good work record? is there something we could do?

Who sent the e-mail?

He is not entitled by law to see the e-mail. If the company wants to let him see it, fine; if they don't want to, that's fine too, legally.

He has no legal case against the company. If they choose to believe the e-mail, they are free to fire him, even if they are mistaken.

He MAY have a case against the person who sent the e-mail, IF he can show that the person knowingly LIED; not was mistaken, not misunderstood something, not had a differing opinion, not jumped to mistaken conclusions based on incorrectly interpreted evidence, but LIED - and the burden of proof is on your husband.
