You are taking a Rx Protonix, Chemical Name: PANTOPRAZOLE (pan-TOE-pra-zole) This medicine is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, or Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. This medicine works by blocking acid production in the stomach. It may be used in combination with antibiotics including amoxicillin or clarithromycin to treat certain types of ulcers.

You should be under the care of your PCP, not presenting at the ER where you are going to appear to be drug seeking, especially since you know it can give a false positive to a Urine drug screen. If you were away form home, you should carry with you at all times and have provided a copy of the perscription to the doctor in the ER. The ER doctor is fully within their rights to not treat you if you appear to be drug seeking. Just because you are a flight attentant doesn't make you immune to addiction. What do you do when your company does random drug testing?

I wasn't drug seeking and I am under the care of a gastroenterologist and a PCP. Yes I have been drug tested at work and always pass with flying colors! However, I haven't been tested since taking Protonix. My supervisor took me to the ER from the airport because I was too dizzy to drive. By the way, I am also an RN and I am going after this Doc cause he was absolutely OUT OF LINE. How would you like it if I ask you: "When's the last time you beat your wife (or husband) and kids?" He shouted so loud everyone in the ER, patients, vistiors and other employees could hear. At the time I went to the ER I did not know Protonix could cause a false postive THC level!!

Well, yes there was a question in mind. Not very computer litterate so it takes me a little time especially when I enter a web site I have never been on. The question was should I sue the doc. I have talked to an attorney this morning and it is an all go. Sorry I was confusing. :D

"I have talked to an attorney this morning and it is an all go"

So you are going to sue for what? Slander? What are your damages?

slander/invasion of privacy

It seems to the attorney I talked to today it is more of a invasion of privacy, letting or rather leading people to believe (inculding my supervisor) that I smoke marijuania. Who knows maybe my attorney just wants my money!!!

Well, does your supervisor believe you were on pot? If no, then you have no damages. The strangers in the ER don't have any value or meaning to your life, so who cares what they think if anything.

I CARE!!!!!!!!!!!! I want that doctor to feel a little pain like he made me feel. Win, lose or draw I will have my day. I really don't care how much it costs me or I guess I should say I don't care how much it cost my husband. He says if it will make me feel better he will write the checks. I want to make D--- sure that doctor never forgets me. You can sue anybody for anything. If I cause him to part with some of his money than good on me. Let him retain an attorney and spend a little money. It will make me feel better. Hey, I'm and RN, BSN, CCRN and ACLS certified. I think I'll go apply for a job at that hospital and see what happens. :D

It should be a clue that the attorney is charging you, you are claiming that anyone can sue, that you already know that there is no merit to your case and you have no damages. You are upset and want to lash out. As a RN etc. you would or should have researched your medication before taking it instead of presenting as you did at the ER with a positive drug test and without copies of your Rx. If you have any bone to pick it is with perscribing physician and or the pharmacist for not informing you of this fact, in addition to your own responsibility. If you want justice, make a compliant re HIPAA violation, with the hospital and or state medical board. If you sue, you will pay your attorney big bucks to sue and possibly the legal costs of the doctor who will be represented by his insurance. Make sure your doctor provides verification of the Rx and it's effect on drug testing for both your employer and carry it and copies of all your scripts in the future. Now calm down, what you are doing doesn't help your GI problems.

You don't think, being an educated person, that a formal written apology would suffice in this situation?
"you can sue anybody for anything", that is true, but is it necessary?

You were embarrassed, and are now angry. Understandable. But it would seem childish to sue when you have suffered nothing but an emotional response.

It didn't happen to you so you really don't know how I feel or what I am going through do you? You were not the accused. Childish or not I am going to make him suffer if I can. I have plenty of time on my hands and plenty of money. I don't get mad I get even.

That is why you have so much time on your hands and a GI problem.

You caused this because of your failure to inform the ER doctor of your medications, as far as they were concerned you were drug seeking when you presented at the ER "dizzy", eg. HIGH.

Spend your money on a therapist to get to the root of your problems.

How many times have people sued you when you were rude as you have been here?

You are overreacting. You are a narcissistic hysterical idiot. It you feel angry now, wait until everyone is laughing at you. If you were afraid of your employer having a bad impression about you, they will after they are brought into this and everything you ever said or done is brought into this merittless, frivolous lawsuit.
