What is the name of your state?I live in Kentucky and I have a concern about slander/defamation.

There is a Christmas display in our subdivision and unfortunately things have gotten pretty ugly. It is wonderful but some want to ban it cause of the traffic. My husband made a remark on a community bb that said

Those who want to ban the display should consider renaming their street Communist Road. It is simply unamerican to ban Christmas displays.

A few neighbors have taken great offense and I contacted the guy who runs the bb ( a bulletin board for our community) and had him take it off. It was up about 6 hours. Many of those who were initially upset, I have talked to, apologized and worked things out. I would say about 8 people viewed it. One man, however, printed it and is going to distribute to the neighborhood and is saying he is going to sue for slander. Does he have any basis.

My husband says I am worrying to much as it was his opinion but I am concerned. The man who runs the bb has a warning when you register saying that the views are the opinion of the writer.

Any advice? Worried in KY.
