What is the name of your state? Oregon

My neighbor and I are in a dispute over a property boundary issue, we both have lawyers. Since the "argument" has started she has started doing weird behavior (mooning, walking around naked in front of our 4 small children, stops car in her driveway and stares or laughs at us-she has a panhandle lot), our lawyer recently received a letter from her lawyer stating that we had spread rumors of her around the neighborhood, that we have stated that we are going to "run her into the ground" (she has cancer) to our neighbors, that we disrupted her 3rd year memorial of her deceased husband (we don't even know when he passed away) that we have used "boorish & bullying behavior" to her, and finally have 2x insulted us for being Christians. One instance called us "stupid people hating Christians", "oh, that's right you are stupid" (refering that we were too stupid to learn that Pegans, which is what she is, pray). Her lawyer in his letter stated to our lawyer "One can only be proud to assist to serving clients who hold themselves out to be 'Christian people' and then behave in this manner." He also stated "In light of the Hanson's often-stated opinion of attorneys..." And the list of insults go on....

So I read that lawyers can state whatever they want about people and are covered by the law but none of the above statements are true other then the fact that we are Christians. We have never stated anything about attorneys, her health or running her into the ground to anyone. We actually don't even really talk to any of our neighbors because we are a quiet and shy family. Is there anything I can do to 1) get my neighbor to stop making false accusations or 2) take her to small claims court for spreading lies about us?

Thank You

You could ask your neighbor to stop telling lies.
It does not sound like you have a defamation case here that you could win.
