I am currently in the process of selling my house and moving away from my once beloved neighborhood because of a gossiping, hatefull neighbor. As a result of this woman's horrible handywork, my children are no longer comfortable going out side to play in our own yard. They have been implied threats made to them by adults and tormented by the neighberhood children...who used to be their close friends. I have been basically shunned by neighbors who I was, just six months ago, on friendly terms with. It was as if a light switch had been flipped. One day life in my neighborhood was happy and everyone was friendly, the next hell on earth. This gossipy woman I had mentioned, had been the center of everything. Before she moved in, everything was great. Then as she became friends with the neighbors, one by one, they would suddenly and with out warning, avoid me like the plague and give me hatefull looks. I had gotten into an argument with this woman once and after that, I became her hobby. I had confronted her once about the odd behavior of the other neighbors and she admitted to " Well, I guess that may be my fault, I did say a few things ..." to them. What, I have no idea. Obviously something horrible to cause such a reaction in the neighborhood. So, I'm having to sell my three year old house and having to put my children into counseling because of this. The only thing I do know for sure what she has said was that I was having an affair with a married man down the street(which is a total lie) and that there was "something wrong" with my 12 year old daughter and not to let the other kids play with her. Which is another lie, there is nothing "wrong" with my daughter. Other than that, I have no idea what to do or how to recover any damages. Any Ideas? I'm at the end of my rope.
