Can I sue someone for slander if they have been spreading false rumors that my wife has been cheating on me? Thanks

To answer your question:
In order to prevail in court, you will have to PROVE lots of things... such as how YOU have been damaged by these lies, who said them, in what context, what was their intent, etc. Simply, not feasible for anything but the most solid cases against defendants with deep pockets.

Add to that, most states do not allow adjudication of non-money issues (like slander) to be heard in Small Claims. They would be required to be filed in a higher court of record.
