how can i go about pressing charges against certain people if im not sure who they are but have recorded them harassing me? there are a few woman that have been spreading vicious lies and rumors about me stating that i am a "prostitute" amongst many other lies they have never come to me personally and said these things to my face but when visiting a friend or at home they are outside somewhere and are always yelling these accusations and lies so i recorded them doing so.how can i get legal help if im not sure who these females are since they dont come to me,on my recordings they have even mentioned that they have put pictures of me on a website and put my name on it stating that i am a prostitute there is much more on these recordings of these woman slandering my name what should i do take recordings to police and let them investigate whos on the tapes or get a lawyer first?

First, you can't. Reason... defamation is NOT a criminal offense. At best you would have to file a civil lawsuit against them.... but you would have to know who and where they are.

And without that CRITCAL information... you pretty much have nothing to go on.

Based on your post, you would have to pay for an attorney to review your claim.

Neither. You have no criminal case and do not have sufficient information to bring a civil case.
And even if you did have their names, etc., it would cost you in excess of $10,000 in legal fees/costs to bring this matter to court. If you have that money to gamble with... go to a local attorney.
