I need some advice. I run a business on the internet and one of my business involves a web forum. However I had to demod a moderator, and now she is spreading lies about how she was "mistreated", "how we cause drama at our boards", and other lies about me and other members of the staff. She has posted this on her myspace profiles, and making this public about how everyone should stay away from our boards. What advice can you give us? If we were to contact myspace and get those accounts suspended would that be possible? Thank you.

Well, opinion is protected free speech so she can rant and rave about your treatment of her and any experiences she personally had while moderator of your forum. She can say horrible things about you. She can even say she felt she was mistreated. If everything she writes she believes to be true, or if everything she writes is her opinion of your web forum, you really have no recourse.

If, however, she crosses the line between opinion and fact, and is libeling you or your staff by making untrue and derogatory statements of fact and this in some way injures you and your reputation, you can contact MySpace and request that the material be deleted.
