slip and fall at hotel

I recently was staying at a hotel in California while on vacation. During my stay I slipped and fell on a wet floor. One of the grounds keepers was washing off my door and ground OUTSIDE of the unit. The high pressure hose he was using forced the water under the door and soaked the tile area in front of the door. I approached the door not realizing that the floor was wet. I went to open the door to find out WHY he was washing off the door (it was creating a nusiance because of the loud noise.) As I approached the door, my leg hit the water and caused me to slip and do the splits and causing me to wrench my back. I missed 4 days of work. I immediately reported the accident to hotel mgmt who came out, took a report and cleaned up the water. What is their liability to me ?

The hotel should pay for your medical and a weekend stay at the Penthouse suite.
