I have a potential small claim against a franchised business.

I have received service from this operation 4 times in the last year, although at different locations and in different states.

This claim involves the failure to properly perform service, which is listed in the list of services which I purchased, resulting in a major repair having to be done. The repair mechanic will certify that the repair was a result of a failure to perform the service.

My question is, would I be better off with an attorney? Is there potential liability on my part for filing a small claim? I am only seeking half of the cost of repair. Should I seek the full amount? This would involve another court as the limit in small claims is $1500. What court would that be?

Thanks.
