Summary of my situation:

I am in CALIFORNIA.

I ordered a $900 piece of computer equipment from FISHTECH SOLUTIONS INC. (via a person called Chad Fisher) in KANSAS; the equipment arrived in non-working state. They tell me to send it to somewhere to be fixed, and after two months, the other company tells me that they aren't responsible for it, and tells me to send it to the original seller.

I email Chad, he says he will take it back. This is over a month ago. I send it back to him, and have not heard a word from him, or received my $900 equipment back. Phone and website are not working any more. They seem to have disappeared. I try emailing them, and they deny any knowledge of Chad and myself.

So questions:

What is the best way for me, a out of state resident, to take legal action against them to recover my $900? It seems I have to go to Kansas personally for small claims court?!?

How can I track them down? any resources for this?
