We've won a small claims and arbitration case that we've filed against an upstart contractor, and was wondering if he appeals this arbitration that was in our favor, what is the next step? If he dosen't appeal, what are the steps in collecting the judgement in our favor? If he does appeal, do you suggest we hire an attorney, and witnesses? We would like to claim missed work wages, and witness fees, Is this possible? Thanks so much.

1) Please read the red lettering on top and state the State you are in.

2) Arbitration should actually have a statement that shows the time that loser/winner can appeal case, check with arbitrater.

3) If you won the judgment already and didn't claim the lost wages, etc you won't get them, plus the court usually won't give them since it is part of the "doing business that is what will happen, unforseen circumstances" bit. Normal and is usually not awarded.

4) Your answer to #1 will help to tell us what your collection avenues may be. Most states allow for: wage garnishment, bank garnishment, property garnishments, liens. Check your state laws to see what apply. You can also get this info from the court clerk.
