I paid a handyman $150.00 to finish and texture a wall. it looks real bad, my wife stopped payment on the check after she called him and he hung up on her. now he is sueing us in small claims court for $150.00. He has no license. what can we expect in court. Redding, Ca.

He's below the $500.00 maximum that an unlicensed handyman can charge for a single job. So, that won't work. Therefore, you can expect to lose.
