Small Claims for Childs medical ex wife did not pay

What is the name of your state? CA

My Husbands ex wife had their son committed for 4 days to a mental hospital so she could go away for the weekend.. We picked him up and then sued for and got custody. Up until that point she had full custody and was required to provide medical ins.. So now the hospital is suing us for half of the bill saying she paid half and we would pay other half,, she has given them and a collection agency our work and home numbers and address etc,, Do we have a defendable case,, whatinfo should we bring and is there anything I can do about her giving out our private info

Were there any court orders in place at the time she was granted full custody regarding how much of the remaining debt each party was liable for after insurance paid their share ?


Best of luck. It's tough when families migrate to new families. So many adjustments. It'so hard on everyone...especially the kids.
