What is the name of your state? Washington/Oregon

I am currently in WA, though a few years back I was in Oregon (where the story takes place)....
I signed papers --and put money down-- on a house with another person (house on contract). Long story short: he screwed me over. So I spoke with the owner and contract holder about removing my name from the contract. No problem, though he obviously couldn't return my down payment. So all three of us created an addendum to the contract -- and we all signed it.
In the addendum -- "the other person is to pay me $4400 at time of sell of house -- or at three years time -- whichever comes first"
It's been just over three years -- and it's time for me to collect my money. Though the person and I have had no contact since I removed my name from the contract.
What do I do? Can I do something here in WA -- or do I need to drive down to OR? If so -- what do I do there? File in small claims court?
The owner/contract holder is willing to be a witness (as he technically is the witness). Please help. Thanks.

Assuming that this written agreement is valid and signed by all parties, you should have a fairly simple time of getting a judgment (Oregon limit on Small Claims is $5000).

Contact the county court where the defendant lives and file there. That way when you win, you will be able to enforce it locally without any domestication issues.
