I live in Florida.I am taking a former tenant to small claims ct for rent owed for december and January. He forged my name on a rent receipt to avoid an eviction. He did not show for the eviction hearing. I paid 2 Expert Witnesses to examine the forged receipt, and they both confirmed, in statements, that the receipts were forged. This is a 3rd degree felony in Fl.
Can I claim for the cost of these Expert Witnesses, and also for Punitive Damages? If so, Do I have to state an amount on the claim and, if so, how would I compute this?

You can add the fees for the witnesses to your claim. However, SCC does not award punitive damages, only actual costs.
