What is the name of your state? New Jersey.
Hi,
I have a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo. The door panels where the windows roll up and down, smell!! I took it to the dealership and they said, " The drain holes were clogged up and we cleaned and deodorized the."

About 6 months later the same smell came back. I then took it back again and they told me it was coming from the heater vent and not the door(BS). They told me to bring the car back when it is warmer.

Now spring is arriving and I am about to take the car back in for a third time of abuse. Right now the car has 18,100 miles. It is my wife's car and she just drive it back and forth to work. I am kind of afraid to call GM because I can picture a pissed off worker sitting in my car. If I take this back, do I have any legal recourses??

Do you have any enemies? I heard that if you put Roeqfort(sp) cheese inside the air cleaner, there will be a very unpleasant odor like smelly feet inside the car.

No, no enemies. I think I know what the problem is(both outside glass seals defective and they never deodorized the door), but they get really offended when I try to tell them. My 2 clues were that water doesn't shed off the outside window when it is rolled up and down(not squeeging off) and the other is the window fogs even with the defroster on for 25 minutes. I tell you I seem to have Manny, Moe and Curly at this Dealership!!!:D

Does your warranty state that you have to go to that dealership? Or can you go to a different one?

I'm going to take it to a different dealership, but I was afraid of getting too many miles on the car. I've had this problem since the car had about 4-5,000 miles on it. I feel like they are pushing me off to expire my warranty work. All consumers aren't as dumb as they try to make us to be.;)

Re: Smelly feet

Hi,

It could be a crack in the heater core or some other leak involving antifreeze. Used antifreeze stinks like smelly feet. Hope this helps.
