I am a resident of North Carolina. The county school system where my daughter attends elementary school has implemented a no-smoking policy in school-owned vehicles, on field trips, at ball games, etc but the policy says nothing about being able to smoke in your own personal vehicle. On May 31, 2006 I was reported to the elem. school principal that I was smoking in my own car (with the windows up until I left school property) and the principal told me that smoking wasn't allowed. Am I being discriminated against?

Thank you,

AliciaWhat is the name of your state?

MY RESPONSE: You know, I was wondering when the School System was going to implement such a rule. I was getting very concerned about those smoking, Dufus, tobacco chewing, Southern, pointy-headed, little Hillbilly, third-graders!

MY RESPONSE: Yes, but only if you're Black, Mexican, or a Southern Dufus Hillbilly. I'll bet you're at least the latter.

Could you pretty please take a look at this thread and give us one of your beautiful responses as only you can do re the two (2) year rule and paternity in California, especially when husband is not the bio dad? It seems the questions keeps getting asked even though I cite the Family code. Please;) Please:)

My response:

Sure, but would you mind giving me a reference to a thread? Or, would you rather that I scour the forums for the next 3 days trying to locate it myself?

Why on earth would you want your second grader to breathe in your secondhand smoke?
Quite smoking, if you can't do that, then don't smoke around your child!

YOU WERE ON SCHOOL PROPERTY!
Try and quit for the sake of your daughter, no discrimination.

The school has every right to disallow smoking on their property. Just the same as you, if you chose to, could disallow it in your living room.
