I was arrested recently for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. The person who called the police never astually saw me with a drink and I was not given a breathalizer. Anyway, the officer asked me what went on and I told him; I was arrested based on my comment, "I took a sip." I did actualy only take one sip. Talk about a silly reason for an arrest. I was NEVER read my rights. What can I do?

Quite often an officer's "innocent" questions and our"trying to be honest"answers will be our conviction in court.A fair amount of convictions are because of statements made by defendants.I would consult an attorney in your area as to whether your voluntary admission would hold up.It's possible it will.
