I have a 5 year old MBNA charge-off, which passes by CA 4-year SOL.

However, a mediation was awarded to debt collector roughly 3 years ago. Believe this leaves on year left on the 4-year SOL. Or, is the SOL on an arbitration award 1-year? Please help me understand if it's 1 or 4 years.

Now, in my last year before the mediation award meets the SOL, I may be leaving the country. I am not aware of any judgements, or of being sued. If I leave the country on a year of business, how can I be made aware of being sued, having judgements made against me, etc? If I'm not served with a lawsuit, is the judgement binding?

I'm tempted to send the Debt Collector a SOL notification, but wanted to seek the thoughts of some of you first.

Thanks in advance for your assist.
