The SOL for creditors bringing suit to a debtor is 4 years if I understand correctly. Is that 4 years from the first default or when you or the bank closed the account. Is there a typical point in default where the bank automatically closes the card acct. , say 3months after first default or can they keep it open indefinitely to continue to mount charges?

The SoL is a defense you would have to assert in court.
It is based on when the default occurred.
