What is the name of your state? California

Today, one guy in street clothes dropped off the court summon for the discovery card that I haven't paid. The summon date was Sep 17 – little more than one month old.

The last time that I sent the payment to the Discovery was summer of 1997. It’s little over 7 years and there was no activity since then.

The last credit card balance that I remember was less than $5000, but they sued me for $13,736 plus attorney fees.

I made bad decisions in the past when I was in school.
Now I have a job but can not pay that much money.

What is the SOL in California for credit card debt?
What should I do now that the summon is one month old already?

Please help me…
I really regret that I didn’t pay my bill…
