WHEN LOOKING AT MY CREDIT REPORT DO I GO BY THE DATE THAT THE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED FOR SOL AS IT STATES IT WAS UPDATED IN 2002 BUT I DID NOT MAKE ANY PAYMENTS THEN, IT JUST SAY UPDATED SOLD TO ANOTHER COLLECTION PLACE. WHICH DATE DO I GO BY.

I started receiving phone calls from Lawrence A. Hacker's office in New Jersey. I have been told that I have an unpaid debt on a credit card. Before I could defend myself, I was told I was ignorant for letting my credit go bad. I was also called stupid. I hung up on them. I did call back the next day to try to find out what was going on, I have excellent credit, never any bad debt on my record. So of course I wanted to straighten them out. Hacker's boys would not talk to me in any civil manner. I immediately called the CC company and found out they have my name and another ssn with several addresses I never heard of. I was told that the calls would cease and desist. Now a month later I received another call from the office. I told him he was to cease and desist because the CC company had straightened out the problem and the company that sold that account was mistaken. He began asking me if I was that person, and would not listen to anything else. I hung up. I am on your side. I would like to be a part of that class action suit (if it is not expensive). I don't have extra cash hanging around. Any way, I work for an attorney and he wrote them a nice letter today. We will see what happens. It distresses me too much to deal with this. I feel my heart race and I am not guilty. What's next? I am furious.

HMNBURKE - The date you need is the date you 1st went continuously delinquent. So, its usually 30 days after the last payment and that would start the reporting period of 7-1/2 years AND the legal SOL for being sued (4 years in PA).

What's next?
First, you start by not hijacking someone elses thread. It is both rude to them (by diverting from THEIR issue to yours) and causes confusion (when you think a response is to you, when it isn't).
And you remedy that problem by DELETING your post here and starting your own thread.... with your own problem.
