I live in Georgia. My wife has been sued for collection of a credit card debt. We estimate that her last payment was made on the account on or about 1/97. (Her credit report actually shows "last activity" in 7/96.) The bank wrote the account off 7/97.

I understand that the SOL for "open accounts" in Georgia is four years. Do credit card accounts fall under this category? If so, then the SOL has on this account has expired, right? I understand that we still have to answer the suit. Thanks for your help.
