What is the name of your state? Illinois

I'm looking for information on statute of limitations for Illinois - can anyone point me in the right direction? Seems as though the websites I have found to date are not user-friendly.

I'm also interested in finding out at what point a collection agency's contacts become harassment, even though I've been in constant contact with them to pay off the account and/or arrange payment plans. Any links would be appreciated, thanks.

(5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.

This is sort of vague....and hard to prove that their intent is to annoy, rather than collect the debt. We do have a payment "plan" in place, have been in contact with at least three people weekly and I'm attempting to gather enough $ to pay it off by the end of the week.

Is it reasonable to assume that somehow, they track or have lists of calls to be made on any certain day and that three different people should not be calling me? IMO, even one call per day on top of letters is ridiculous, not to mention they leave no messages half of the time. And all considering we are not dodging them, but making regular payments - and BIG ones. Is there any requests I can make to them to at least limit contact to weekly, or from one person? And, lol, will that even help....

You can request the CA to only contact you in writing. But you have to send a limited cease and desist letter, certified mail return receipt requested.

The limited C & D letter is just a letter requesting them to only contact you by mail. Make sure to include the appropriate address. Send it CMRRR for proof (in case they get amnesia).
