What is the name of your state? New Mexico
I'm being contacted by phone by a CA for a credit card debit that I last had anything to do with since 1993. The debit is from Colorado originally and I now live in New Mexico.. Will a letter stating that I know about the SOL be enough to stop them from harrassing me? Also one of the collectors told me that they could put a lien on the house we now own, as New Mexico is a community property state. My husband aand I weren't married at the time of the original debt. Is this possible? Also I was told they could garnish my wages.
Any advice is most appreciated
