What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL
I listed an unfished replica on a message board for sale. I then sold it to a guy for cash. We did a standard (unitemized) bill of sale. A week after I sold the car I found some parts that were listed for sale with the car. I couldn't find the guy's number, so I sold the parts. Five weeks later, he contacts me looking for the parts. I tell him that I sold them, but he wants them anyway. He says he will take me to court. To buy all of the parts new would cost $335 before tax. I would like to offer the guy some compensation, but I am not going to go buy all of those parts new for him.
In my opinion, He should have been more thorough when he made the purchase and then he should have contacted me within a month or less if he found something missing.
Does he have any legal standing?
