What is the name of your state? TX

I have read what a couple of you have posted in my earlier question and agree.....but the buyer of the vehicle is now threatening a small claims lawsuit. Again, is this anything I should worry about?

I am an actuary, not an attorney, but I went through a similar situation recently with a boat. See the thread below called 'sold a boat and it busted'. You can also see the response i got on a boating forum here: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=207127

I hired an attorney because I actually got a civil summons. My advice would be not to sweat it unless you get called into court. You already gave 'em 200 bucks right?

FYI, my lawyer told me not to give the plantiffs a dime since that could be misinterpreted as actually being responsible for the breakdown. I origianlly considered giving 'em 400-500 bucks, but in the end gave that money to my lawyer.

I sent them a check about a week ago for the $200 and it hasnt shown to be cashed or hit my bank account as of yet. Should I stop payment on that check and keep the money for myself or should I leave it and let them have it?

They have only sent me an email threatening small claims lawsuit.....Would a small claims court even consider taking the issue?

Thanx, "country bumkin" for the advise......I am just trying to make sure all my base's are covered before breathing easy.
