What is the name of your state? Georgia

I sold my car (private sale) Nov. 29th for $4000 to a guy yesterday.

Car: 1985 944 Porsche

Today at about 11am he called me to let me know that the car ran for 2 hours yesterday and now it will not run. There is no electrical. I asked him if he put gas in it, did it over heat, etc. I told him to try jumping it.

I told him the known problems with it when he looked at the car.
Known problems:
1) Water pump gasket leaks water.
2) No AC
3) Car has not been driven in 6mths

He told me that if he cannot get it working today then he is going to return it. He said that there is a law in Georgia that says that he can return the car back to me within 24-48 hours.

Please let me know. This is urgent.

Thank you,
David Wilson

We do not have lawyers in all states, so do not know whether there is a specific GA law that would allow a buyer to rescind his purchase of the car.

I can tell you that I have done a cursory review of the Georgia statutes and was not able to find any such law. I would suggest that you tell the buyer that this was an 'as is' sale and that you will NOT refund his purchase price unless/until he is able to give you a SPECIFIC citation to the law he is claiming. (Personally, I doubt such a law would exist on a private transaction.)

He has the LEGAL responsibility for his purchase decision (called Caveat Emptor - literally, Buyer Beware).
