What is the name of your state? Ohio

I have another post under Neighborhood/Boundaries which explains the majority of my situation. However, my next group of questions seem to fit this category much better.
I have been being harassed by my next door neighbor for quite some time now. His latest joy seems to be telling people all over the neighborhood that I have an incestuous relationship with my younger brother and a prediliction towards young children. Now, let me just say that these statements are absolutely baseless and he is simply being malicious. I am a community counselor and could conceivably work with a person from my neighborhood. Also, it's amazing how quickly rumors can spread in the social service field. If these slanderous comments make it to a client/manager, etc--my career will be over in a heartbeat!
I contacted the Akron Police Dept (huge waste of time) and Community Legal Aid Services. I was told that if I did not have witnesses to the comments or a tape recording of them, it was essentially his word against mine. The only problem is that I offered 3 witnesses and no one has followed up on them.
I have written the mayor, my city councilman, chief of police, and the Community Oriented Policing officer and supervisor. No results.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Please don't be mean, I've got that everyday from the neighbors. Thanks!

**A: you have approached this all wrong. This is a civil matter that does not concern the peoplet hat you wrote to. Hire an attorney and file a TRO.

You are playing right into your neighbor's hands. He is doing this to harass and upset you and you are letting him do it.

Remember that if you stir ****, you get stink.
