Ok here is the scoop! I Live In West Virginia, As of right now I guess I am still legally married to a woman who has made my live miserable,but that is only part of my problem. Back in March of 2000 I told her I was getting a divorce. for many stupid reason I continued to live in the same house with her untill May of the same year. I had met another woman that year and had fallen in love with her, My wife was told about her also in March. I moved in with girlfriend in May of 2000. she has 2 children, who call me daddy. and I love the kids as if I was their biological father.actually more than their biological father, anyway's, I asked my attorney if it would be possible to adopt these kids. I was told by my attorney that all I needed was the signed consent from the biological father and my girlfriend consent and to have lived with the children at least 6 month's prior to filing for the adoption. well in Oct. of 2001 we went in front of the judge and I was grantd the adoption and the children was given my last name.and the biological father signed the papers and didn't even show up for court. My problem now is that my soon to be ex is fighting it and say's that it is illegal because she didn't sign the consent for me to adopt and now we have to go to court for a hearing infront of the judge who signed the adoption. I received a letter telling me that there has been a hearing scheduled on the MOTION TO SET ASIDE ADOPTION. Could someone please tell me what this means. I have made call after call to my lawyer about this and I never get a response I have even sent letters to her and all I get is bill's from her. can someone please help me. Am I going to lose my kids because of my ex'es jealousy. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
