My wife purchased something off of ebay and when we got it, it was broken.Well we contacted the seller and told them that it was broke and they said it must have gotten broken in the mail because it was not broke when they sent it. Well i was the one who opened the box and there were no broken pieces in the box at all. My wife then give her feedback to ebay saying that it was broke and we were not satisfied and since then the sellers have posted that my wife is a moron and a real menice because she gave negative feedback. Then we start getting emails saying they reported us to ebay on being a bad customer and we lived up to our end of the bargain. So approximatly one month after all this we get an email from them once more saying they are filing a slander suit against us because we gave negative feedback.so do they have a case and will I have to go 750 miles just to go to court.Someone please help me.:(

Several things prevent them from having any case. Some are:

1) Unless you made claims that THEY were responsible for the broken damage and tried to defraud you (you didn't do that did you?), then your simple claim of broken merchandise when received is the truth. And that is the ultimate defense against defamation.
2) If they do file against you (unlikely), assuming that they are in a different state, file a "Motion for Dismissal due to lack of jurisdiction". And if they are in the same state, you can file a motion for change of venue to force them to bring their action in your home county.
3) They will have a VERY hard (if not impossible time) trying to validate any claims of actual damages.

My suggestion... in a very calm, professional and respectful voice, tell them to kiss your ...... (you can fill in the blanks!).
