i bought a 88 camaro and didnt have insurance until january 11th and my cousin had full coverage insurance for any car he was to drive so i thought i did the right thing and let him drive it the day before i got insurance and he accidently ran into someone. now i got the blame and lost my licence for three months. shouldnt he be responsible for the damage and make him pay for the damage. i wasnt even driving cause i didnt want to get in trouble for not having insurance. he wrecked the car on january 10th 2001. i dont think it is fair now my summer is ruined and he gets off scott free while i deal with the consenquences of him wrecking my car. i am only 19 and dont have the 3,269.00 they want for the dammage. what can i do?

My response:

Ever heard of Small Claims court ?

Once a person gets behind the wheel of a car, they become, under all State laws, completely responsible for their actions.

If your driver was negligent, he's responsible for payment of the repair of your property.
