son was arrested for theft, possision of alcohol, criminal tresspass, and criminal damage to property. 6 teens were at a building outside, police came about possible breakin. teens hid in bean field. police found a backpack with alcohol in it, one teen admitted it was his but all were charged with possesion. theft charge came from the finding of 2 bags of ice beside a ice machine, all teens said it was there when theey got there. tresspass and damage charges were for the bean field 25ft of beans were trampled during the arrest. none of the teens were read their rights. my question is can they all be charged with possision just for being with the one with alcohol? and theft for ice that all say was beside the ice machine.

They can all be charged but the charges most likely will be dismissed against all but the one who admitted being the owner of the backpack. The theft charge will may also be dismissed as the evidence is long gone.
