On the 30th of May my son (who is 3) was outside riding his bicycle on the street in the housing area we live in with one of the neighbor's son. The neighbor had just pulled into his driveway got out and went to get his mail and was talking to my youngest son ( who is 1). When all of a sudden while(and a few minutes after the car had been parked) they were riding their bikes behind the car it slipped out of gear and rolled completely over my son and his bicycle. He is in really good shape (Thank the Good Lord) The only thing that they could find wrong with him at the hospital was severe scrapes and bruises and as the doctor said an unspecified or superficial head injury. And several contusions on his hands, back, shoulders, and abdomen. The only question that I have is should I seek Legal counsel?
I don't want something to be wrong with my son a few years down the road and us not have the money to pay for it. Will it help to get a lawyer or will the insurance people be understanding. I hope some one can help.
Thank you for your time and advice.

Insurance people will not be understanding. They are in the business to get you to agree to accept the lowest amount possible. If you are concerned, at a minimum, I suggest that you meet with a lawyer (or two) before deciding how you really want to proceed with the matter.
