What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
My son graduated from a private high school, with a 3.0 GPA, in May 2008. His physical high school diploma had to be returned because his name was not spelled correctly. When we returned the physical diploma we were told the new one would be reissued in 3 to 4 weeks. It has now December 2008 and still not diploma. After repeated discussion and assurances from the school that the corrected diploma would be issued soon, the school now suggests that we deal with the manufacturer to get the diploma. I do not know the law, but this seems to be the responsibility of the school. It now appears that the school is not going to do anything to rectify the situation. My question is do we have grounds for legal action or lawsuit against the school?
