What is the name of your state? Indiana
My brother age 38 moved in with my parents about 2 years ago after getting divorced. They helped him buy a car and get custody of his 7 year old son who lives with them now. Everything was fine until a few months ago when he started harassing my Mom & Dad about bad language on the television. He is a religious nut and expects everyone to live according to his bizarre interpretation of the bible. The harassment has gotten worse with him grabbing the newspaper out of my Dad's hands, giving them the finger. Screaming and threatning them. They have asked him to move out more than once and wrote him a letter asking him to leave. He refuses and says they will have to take him to court. They have not called the police because tey are afraid he will lose his son. His ex-wife is an unfit mother. Unfortunately they dont seem to relize that he may be more unfit as a parent.
The rest of the family have confronted him but he is a total freak and just qotes the bible.
Any ideas on the best way to handle this?

How old are your parents? You may want to google up the Elder Abuse Laws for your state. If he looses his custody it's HIS problem...and as you said, his behavior seems to qualify him as a unfit parent. Your parents could also evict him from the home...it would take a little time....1 to 3 months to actually get him out, but that is an option.

Have your parents consult with a Lawyer that specializes in Elder Laws and find out what the best option is for them. If your brother lays one finger on either parent CALL THE POLICE!

Someone else may have other/better advice for you so keep checking in...

The only advice I have is to echo what baystategirl said. Your parents need to go through the legal process to evict him.
