What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon
We are in a difficult but stupid situation. My husand and I have been living with our son for the last 3 years. He let us move in because we had no place to live. He had been helping us for a while but things just kept getting worse. I have health problems - hearing loss, cataracts, neck injury, numb feet and hands, diabettes. i had a workers comp injury case that took 5 years to settle. my husband worked but in the last 7 years he hasn't gotten very good paying jobs. So we ended up staying longer and longer. The son initially asked for 500 a month but somehow the spouse couln't seem to come up with it so the son said ok if you buy all the food that would be good. I don't know what the spouse thought this meant but he didn't try to get us out of here very fast.We did housework, cooking, and he did yardwork. Anyway he had 2 work injuries this year in feruary and march and he is not better. September 1 we were given notice to move out. Spouse has storage where all the stuff can be put only we're both screwed and need help to get it out. Son does not want to load the van or anything. I have an appointment for social security disability and we've applied for NOHA. My husband keeps looking for workon the internet , got a few calls but no interview. We only need some help to get our suff out of here and the chips can fall where they may. Another son lives here as well, he is schizophrenic and has Social security disability and has to leave as well. We are 57 and 60. Any suggestions?

Perhaps all three of you could pool what resources you have to find a place to rent together.

Your son is well within his legal rights to ask you (as nonpaying tenants) to vacate his residence and has given you enough time to do this.
