I posted the question on 8/2/00 and you replied that my son was at fault for an auto vs bike accident because my son by riding a bike, must obey the same rules as a car. My son hit a car in the crosswalk. The car was acceralting into the intersection on arrow (left hand turn). Doesn't the driver have to ensure the intersection is clear before they can proceed. The intersection is three lanes of traffic one way plus a turning lane. My son had to be in the second to third lane when the arrow appeared. Also what about 625 ILCS 5/11-1003.1 "every driver shall exercise due care to avoid colliding with a person operating a bicycle...." ?
