I have court tomorrow for a paternity case. They have not proven I am the father yet. They want me to provide finacial documents in court. Do I have to provide these before the dna test that proves I am the father?

if you are court ordered to provide them, then you must provide them or suffer consequences.

so they'll continue the hearing, wait for you to provide the documents, and STILL bill you for the full amount of child support from the date of the filing.

Agreed. However, if he is proven to NOT be dad they really should NOT be entitled to any of his personal financial info.

Thanks for the response!! I will bring them to court but I am going to request a blood test. Will this delay them taking my $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yes, but remember, as Izzy told you, the longer you attempt to delay the proceedings, the more arrears mount up. Child support will be awarded from the date of filing.

Did you sign the Affidavit of Paternity? Have you told people you are the father? How old is the child? And they do NOT do a BLOOD test for DNA.

wouldn't be a bad idea for you to start now figuring out the amount of money you will pay if found to be the father, and then, put it aside right now. Gives you a chance to see how living without that amount will be. It helped me a lot when I was still going through the courts to get everything finalized, and I was able to pay back support right away too.
