A gentleman has about 5.6 acres of land that he obtained when another individual did not pay taxes. He has a quit claim deed. This land is split by a blacktop road. He is willing to sell me 2.8 acres. He does not want to spend anything, but I would assume, at a minimum, that a survey would have to be done (to split the land) and then someone would have to write up two new deeds. How would I initiate this? Can a law office draw up the new deeds? Or would I call a surveyor first? Thank you. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
