What is the name of your state? CA

I am currently developing some new sports equipment that improves upon already created products. The manufacturer who can piece together my product creates and sells similar products. What do I need to do to stop them from just copying my improvements? Is there a form/agreement they can sign where they agree to manufacture my particular product only with my permission?

All advice is appreciated! :)

I'm sure you can make such a contract. The issue is unless you have a patent, there's nothing you can do to compel them to get permission from you.
