In accordance with my California Divorce Decree, the spousal support that I am paying will terminate January 1, 2009. I am active duty military, preparing to deploy to Iraq and have the following question:

1. I will return approximately 2 weeks prior to the expiration of spousal support. During my absence, will the Sailors and Soldiers relief act protect me from any court action with regards to extending the termination date beyond January 1, 2009?

a. The "Gavron Warning" was written into the divorce decree.
b. My former spouse did not relinquish jurisdiction.

Thank you.
